While on my road trip, I camped in the Red Mountain Campground on the Cle Elum River, in the Wanatche Nat. Forest in WA. This was the actual scene from my campsite. This painting was done early one morning while the sun was just coming up. The clouds moved in and filtered the light, so it was mostly flat. I had to paint the light and dark values quickly, when I could. But the weather had been so hot, that no one was complaining - except mybe the resident artist.
