I painted this last year from a photo taken in British Columbia. I always felt the scene needed something, so recently I decided to add the gray wolves. I love wolves and am happy that they have been reintroduced to the US wilderness. I haven't seen any since I was a child camping in the high back country. They are very shy and reclusive, but on recent camping trips to Wyoming and Colorado I have heard their wolfsong in the night. It is so amazing and beautiful to listen to.
