The idea behind this painting is what inspires a child's imagination. This little barefoot girl, is pretending she is dancing on the clouds. Her steps produce raindrops in the sunshine and the colors reflect off the clouds. The image is all pastel shades therefore the values are very similar, which unfortunately (in the photo)doesn't come across as pure and crisp and full of light, as they are in the painting. They also appear a bit darker and distorted with lines. Click on the image for a truer idea of what the painting looks like. In reality it is so much more lovely and softly feminine than the photo.
