The beautiful golden conch shell is just one of many treasures from the sea that float up onto the surface of the turquoise waters and eventually finds its way to the shore. (The background color looks like 'cobalt' in this photo of the painting, but it is actually a lovely phthalo turquoise more reminiscent of the summer sea. I will try to correct the photo problem, if I can figure it out. )
