Worked this up from a smaller similar painting that was done on site. There were several fly fishermen working the river when I painted it. I loved the idea of including them but kept in mind why I was originally drawn to the scene. It was the color of the water, rock face and the trees were the magnet. I omitted all but one of the fly fishermen. I also tried to just paint him as simply as possible. I didn't want the viewer's immediate reaction to focus on the fisherman. I titled it so that perhaps the viewer might ask why that title. If they didn't catch the fly fisherman to begin with they would go back out of curiosity for the answer. @sheilamarieart Worked this up from a smaller similar painting that was done on site.
