A morning out at Chatfield Botanic Gardens with my friends Teri and Julia.Although the day was blistering hot we found a perfect spot that would be shaded for the couple of hours while we painting.Those yellow/gold flowers were the star of the scene. Hundreds of them! Partial sun/shade made for great shadows.I did a little editing to the scene, omitting some buildings in the background to simplify. I loved that there was a volunteer gardener there as we painted.She had on a long jacket that my initial sketch of her she looked like she was wearing a robe, hah When I got home I knew that had to go. I changed out her clothing and gave her a pink gardeners hat.@sheilamarieart
