Media: acrylic on stretched canvas
Size: 8x10 in
Footbridge Over Rails with Swiss Alp was inspired by a cab-view train video traveling through Switzerland. I loved the scenery as it passed the train so I passed and screen shot several scenes. This painting is loosely based on a scene near Thun which is 30 kilometres south of Bern, Switzerland. And I think the Alp in the scene is the Ritzlihorn. The Eiger is another possibility but the shape is wrong, even in the painting. So, if you wonder how artists find inspiration and painting ideas, you know we watch scenic videos. At least, I do. The title for this work is Footbridge 2. It was painted with Golden heavy body acrylics on a Paramount Premium stretched cotton canvas. All high quality professional materials if you are unfamiliar with the brand names. I created this painting on June 5 of 2020. It is a Gregory Cross original acrylic landscape. This is actually the second of an ongoing series of paintings I have done of footbridges. Every now and again I decide to paint another. The painting is signed G Cross on the front and has my signature, contact information, painting number, and date painted on the back. The sides are painted so it can be hung gallery style without frame and, if you let me know, I will wire it for hanging for no additional cost. But you will need to allow an extra day or two for handling if you do. Also, I try to get the colors in the digital photo as close to the actual painting as possible, but digital cameras do not pick up certain colors very well and that, of course, affects the image you see of the painting. So, the images are edited for that purpose. I really appreciate that you have taken the time to view my painting and read this description.
