This was painted during a time when I was experimenting with atmospheric effects and reflected light. I chose to do the person as a silhouette, which is a technique I like and have used in other paintings. Plus I made the night dark sea red instead of a more nuetral dark color, playing around with some color theory and just having some fun with it. It made for a very interesting painting. Title: Morning Walk Along a Beach Artist: Gregory Cross Date Painted: September 11, 2019. Description: This is an original acrylic seascape painting of a woman walking along a beach at dawn. Materials: It was painted with Golden heavy body acrylics on a 10 inch tall x 8 inch wide x1.5 inches deep Blick Premiere gallery wrapped cotton canvas. The sides are painted and it is varnished. It is wired to hang. No frame is needed.
Artist note: My artwork has been liked by Danny Trejo, the movie and voice actor; by the movie actress Holly Horner; by the famous Japanese artist and teacher Harumichi Shibasaki; the famous artist and art teacher Malcolm Dewey; by the Belgian rock band Blackbriar; the Hungarian rock band Metalwings; and by YouTube personalty and artist Liron Yanconsky. Gregory Cross has had paintings on exhibit at the San Antonio Public Library, Bihl Haus Art Gallery, and now in a second annual exhibit at the Elvira Cisneros Senior Center. He also was one of the artists who painted the 60 foot x 6 foot San Antonio Tricentennial Mural. Art critics have discribed his work as surrealistic but with the charm of the everyday; full of visual surprises with anti-gravity, wittiness, and irony. His paintings have sold in many countries.
