This was painted during a time when I was experimenting with atmospheric effects and I used some wind turbines as the subject againts a yellow sunset. Heat is shimmering and distorting the poles for the turbines. Title: The New Horizon Artist: Gregory Cross Date Painted: September 19, 2019. Materials: It was painted with Golden heavy body acrylics on a 10 inch tall x 8 inch wide x1.5 inches deep Blick Premiere gallery wrapped cotton canvas. The sides are painted and it is varnished. It is wired to hang. No frame is needed. Notes: The painting is signed G Cross on the front, and has the artist's full signature, painting number, and the date it was painted on the back. He also was one of the artists who painted the 60 foot x 6 foot San Antonio Tricentennial Mural. Art critics have discribed his work as surrealistic but with the charm of the everyday; full of visual surprises with anti-gravity, wittiness, and irony. His paintings have sold in many countries.
