Mount Baker Bellingham Washington Volcano is a stratovolcano in the Northern Cascade Volcanic Arc. It's thermal activity is second only to Mount Saint Hellens (which had a major eruption in 1980) making Mt Baker one of the most dangerous volcanoes on the west coast of the United States. It is 30 miles due west of the city of Bellingham, Washington. It is also only 69 miles from Vancouver Canada and 85 miles from Seattle. Mount Baker is a beautiful, glacier covered stratovolcano in the Cascade Mountain Range. The title and subject of this painting is "Mount Baker" as seen from Lummi Island and the Rosario Strait. The city that is lighting up the woods at the base of the volcano is Bellingham. You can only see a building or two from the water. This was painted by me, Gregory Cross, on January 31, 2020 using Golden heavy body acrylics on a Artist Loft stretched cotton canvas. The painting is varnished with Golden water base satin varnish. The frame is a black wood Ambiance Gallery frame which is 17.25 inches tall x 21.25 inches wide x 1.5 inches thick. I usually ship a painting the next business day after your purchase but please allow me 2 days handling just in case. And I try very hard to get the colors in the photos as close to the actual painting as I can, but they may still be slightly different from the physical painting. Digital cameras don't pick up certain colors very well and often change the look of a painting slightly. So, understand that the photos are edited. Thank you for taking the time to view my painting and read this description. Mount Baker Bellingham Washington Volcano is a stratovolcano in the Northern Cascade Volcanic Arc.
