Media: acrylic on Bavarian linen panel.
Size: 10x8 in
This is a still life I did back in early 2019. It features a puple vase with two plums against a green background. This was one of the handful of still lives that I set up in my "light box", which was actually a corner of my bedroom between a dresser and a wall. The background was a length of cloth and the "stand" was a stack of boxes. Still, by changing the cloth (which was simply pinned to the wall) I made several different back drops. The light was a couple of desk LED lamps and a floor lamp. The set up worked ok for a while but i had to reuse the space for other things. Title: Vase and 2 Plums Size: 10 inches tall x 8 inches wide Artist: Gregory Cross Date Painted: February 26, 2019 Description: This is an original acrylic still life of a purple vase and 2 plums. Materials: It was painted with Golden heavy body acrylics on a Fredrix Pro Series Bavarian linen over wood panel. Notes: The painting is signed G Cross on the front, and has the artist's full signature, painting number, and the date it was painted on the back. Please understand colors may vary between the actual painting and the digital image on your screen due to my digital camera's results and your monitor's settings. Artist note: My artwork has been liked by Danny Trejo, the movie and voice actor; by the movie actress Holly Horner; by the famous Japanese artist and teacher Harumichi Shibasaki; the famous artist and art teacher Malcolm Dewey; by the Belgian rock band Blackbriar; the Hungarian rock band Metalwings; the Brazilian rock band Darkship; and by YouTube personalty and artist Liron Yanconsky. Gregory Cross has had paintings on exhibit at the San Antonio Public Library, Bihl Haus Art Gallery, and at the Elvira Cisneros Senior Center Annual Exhibit (now for the third year in a row). He also was one of the artists who painted the 60 foot x 6 foot San Antonio Tricentennial Mural. Art critics have described his work as surrealistic but with the charm of the everyday; full of visual surprises with anti-gravity, wittiness, and irony. He has been interview by KENS 5 TV and the San Antonio Express News. His paintings have sold in many countries. This is a still life I did back in early 2019.
