Cascade Volcano Mount Hood Oregon is another of my Ring of Fire series. I painted twelve of the most prominent volcanoes in the Pacific Northwest states of Washington and Oregon. And Mount Hood would have to feature prominently in any grouping of Pacific Northwest mountains. Timberline Lodge is a National Historic Landmark located on the southern flank of Mount Hood and the mountain offers the only year-round lift-served skiing in North America. Mount Hood is the tallest mountain in the state of Oregon and one of the tallest on the North American continent. Mount Hood is an active volcano spawning many earthquake swarms each year. The most recent evidence of volcanic activity at Mount Hood consists of fumaroles near Crater Rock and hot springs on the flanks of the volcano. Not surprising then, the title of this work is "Mount Hood" and it was painted by me, Gregory Cross on January 24, 2020. Painted with Golden heavy body acrylics on a 16 inches tall x 20 inches wide Artist's Loft stretched cotton canvas and varnished with a satin finish. The included frame is a black wood Ambiance Gallery frame that is 17.25 inches tall x 21.25 inches wide x 1.5 inches thick. I usually ship a painting the next business day after your purchase but please allow me 2 days handling just in case. And I try very hard to get the colors in the photos as close to the actual painting as I can, but they may still be slightly different from the physical painting. Digital cameras don't pick up certain colors very well and often change the look of a painting slightly. So, understand that the photos are edited. Thank you for taking the time to view my painting and read this description. Cascade Volcano Mount Hood Oregon is another of my Ring of Fire series.
