Media: QOR watercolor pigments on Yupo ground.
Size: 13x10 in
I used a different ground for this painting. It's a plastic 'paper', trademane 'Yupo'. It absorbs nothing, the pigment sits on its surface. The colors can be rewetted and moved around or wiped off entirely. I'm not crazy about this ground but feel I should give it a chance. The ability to remove paint makes the commitment to composition and design more or less unnecessary since it can all be lifted off and begun again. However, the option to lift gives the opportunity restore white areas and highlights which often get obliterated inadvertently in water media.
My pigments are QoR, a product with uses a synthetic gum arabic with lets the colors shine more brightly, flow and combine in ways unlike all other watercolor paint I've used. I'm very fon of that brand and use it most times.
