Media: Artists' pastels on Canson archival board
Size: 12x9 in
I'm learning to use my new sets of pastels, both soft and hard. The process of applying pigments is quite different from watercolor, a media with which I'm more familiar. I'm getting used to working from dark pigments to light, the opposite of watercolor painting.
I caught this fish at Comanche Lake in Colorado towards the end of my fishing day. It measured about 9.5 - 10", so this painting is roughly to scale interns of the fish's size.
