While trying to cross an Adirondack road, minding her own business, I found this turtle. Her color was stunning, reds, yellows, oranges, deep greens and blues, blacks and purples. I turned her over and over admiring her contours and texture. She hunkered-down until she could feel the roadside when I set her down then quickly beat a path to the grasses and disappeared.
