Th Sago Palm is a common urban landscape species where conditions are dry and sunny. They thrive in subtropical regions, originally coming from Japan. The species is either male or female, the one shown here shows the seed pod of a male plant. I found it outside my mom's doctors office. I have picture of the same palm we saw in Brazil except those were female. They are just as sculptural but quite different. I'll be painting those as well.
