The Mimoas tree in Brasil is an asian import. It's named as 'invasive' but is widely propagated for its ornamental ad shade attributes. The seed pods I painted dry in trendrils, i painted them because of their spiral shapes. Also, when inverted and held behind oone's head they look like bunny ears...whatever.
