This is number 16/250. My Deliberate Portrait Practice Series.
This piece was painted alla Prima today while I was teaching the portrait pose at Heatherleys Open Studio. It's my third version of Suzette, a very good model and very disciplined too. This view really revealed her African feminine features. The surface was quite rough and I didn't paint with any solvent or medium and nothing to wash my brushes, just cleaned them as I went along. It did look a bit muddy in the end but I quite liked the end result.
