I did this portrait while on set with The One Show Crew on BBC One from one of his well known drawings of himself. We were looking into the work of Leornardo Da Vinci at The Royal Collection and at the Diamonf Light Source Research centre, Oxford. I started this off as a charcoal drawing after which I painted with acrylic on top after fixing the charcoal drawing. An exhibition of Leonardo's drawings are currently being shown all across the UK, you cab click here for details. I tried to give this piece as much structure as possible so that his face would look really three dimensional.
