I sketch on public transport almost everyday in London and I always notice that there's always a lady who puts "finishing touches" while on board.....This painting captures a lady I saw on a train from London Bridge to East Croydon.
What interests me is that, they careless about who is looking, they just get going with the business at hand, just like they were indoors! I think it takes a certain amount of courage to do this while the train is moving. Some people wonder how I manage to sketch while the trains move. I wonder how these ladies do such precise work on their faces while the train moves. My conclusion is that -it's a passion and an art, that if mastered becomes almost an effortless act.
