Portrait Deliberate Practice Series 50/250. "WE LOST", 6" x 8", oil on MDF board.

Wow!! I'm one quarter through- this has been some journey. I have never painted 50 portraits in any Calender year. It goes to show the power of setting goals! I've learnt so much so far but my greatest lesson is: NEVER WAIT TO FEEL LIKE PAINTING, YOU WON'T FEEL LIKE PAINTING MOST TIMES, JUST GET YOUR ARTY STUFF OUT AND PAINT!

I painted this piece in a very sketchy manner. I started with a simple wash and went on to pile on thicker colour. It's the best way to handle Alla Prima pieces because the process becomes a bit more easier to handle.

I have titled this one, 'we lost' because that's the face of any football fan whose team gets to a major final and looses the match. It's not a pleasant feeling at all.
