I painted this in Maine, on a day so windy that I had to weight my easel down with several large rocks. However, the sun was out, the wind was cool, and I could hear mother ducks in the water below shepherding their babies into the shelter of the cove. There were gulls flying above checking me out to see if I had something more edible than my sticks of pastel. It's all of this that I love when I paint outdoors.
