Painting with the limited palette made famous by Anders Zorn, I painted this scene from his hometown, one he could have possibly painted as well. The only difference is the additional of Cerulean Blue. Zorn is known for painting with vermilion, yellow ochre, Payne’s gray and white, but when he died and his home and studio were donated to the state, 17 tubes of cerulean paint were inventoried in his studio. I assume he used it when painting landscapes. It would have been impossible to capture the blue water without it.
