I regret to say this painting was not painted en plein air on location. But that is a bucket list item.
Not sure how I'm going to pull it off yet, since the management of Claude Monet's home in Giverny does not allow visitors to paint in the garden. Not even a doodle or a watercolor. But where there is a will, there is a way, and I've thrown it out into the universe to work out the details. In the meantime, I can paint from photos or paintings while sipping cider and dream it's from Les Ruelles farm and cider mill walking distance from Monet's le sanctuaire givernois.
