It's no secret I love the work of Claude Monet, especially the works created at his home in Giverny. Waterliles are one of his favorite subjects, and I can guess why. It's one of the reasons I love them so much. Water lilies are a joy to paint. I love the juxtaposition of the cool triad of colors.... greens, blues and lavenders. I love the opposing horizontal lily pads against the horizontal reflections. And I love the little pops of warm colors in the blossoms themselves.
