For the past month I've been filming a series of lessons for the Brilliant Strokes creativity project for Spring Hill Parks and Rec. We were awarded a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission called the ABC grant, Art Builds Communities. It was our hope to offer intergenerational creativity classes to teenagers and senior citizens, but Covid got in the way. We had to punt, and quickly. The solution? Video! And what a grand solution. Instead of teaching a total of 16 students per class, we can now reach potentially millions of viewers. My hope is that the classes are so popular, we are awarded the grant again next year for Season 2. Fingers crossed.
