REcently I hosted a watercolor workshop at the Little House at Sunnybrook Farm in Columbia, Tennessee, to offer inspiration, instruction and creative support to artists and "non-artists" alike. What a blast! Together we enjoyed all the fun and magic that is watercolor, focusing on techniques in painting the effects of light on farmhouse vignettes and country landscapes. While using painterly, colorful & impressionistic brushwork, we created lovely art amid the beauty of this charming, historic farmhouse with the company of fellow artists. And that wasn't even the best part. With a homemade lunch by the Puffy Muffin baker extraordinaire and served by the nephew of White Christmas actor Dean Jagger, a group of a dozen artists shared a day of beauty, art, relaxation, and friendship. Hopefully, we can recreate it again in the spring. This painting was my class demo painting.
