The sight of your life jacket hanging by the door of the old cabin stirs up a blend of excitement and nostalgia. It's the unofficial symbol of adventure and freedom, promising a day filled with sun-soaked moments and the gentle rocking of the boat on the water. Just looking at it, you can almost hear the soft lapping of the waves against the hull and feel the refreshing spray of water as you speed across the lake.What adventure awaits? Fishing, skiing, canoeing down a nearby tributary? No matter how fast life goes on back at home, time moves slower at the lake. It's comforting to know some things never change. I wanted to name this painting "Kiss my Bass" but that would not be true. Fishing with my grandparents always meant crappy. And lots of them. And the most amazingly delicious supper at the end of the day. A great day.
