Attempting to capture the essence of spring led me to painting three perfect daffodils at my home, Windy Acre Cottage. These flowers have been here for decades. I have divided them, transplanted them, given many away, and yet they persevere and bloom through the snow, wind and floods just to delight themselves and anyone watching. I haven't figured out why yet, but the oldest row in the back of the garden bloom last, so that daffodils abound at any point for more than a month. They are the essence of spring. ... along with the tornado sirens. :)
