The first day I was introduced to Lucifer, the 6-foot-long rat snake that lives in my garden, I nearly had a heart attack. He is big and scary, but then I learned he is good for my garden. Lucifer protects his territory from venomous snakes. He also keeps down any potential rodent population. We had to have a Come to Jesus meeting when he went after a nest of baby birds, but we are good now that I've set boundaries. So I immortalized him in ink. Acrylic ink, specifically. On a tea bag.
