Creative Spirits are studying French Impressionism this year and we are starting off with a few studies by Monet, Pissarro, and Caillebotte. This painting is a study of Camille Pissarro's "The Harvest at Montfoucaille," and it was a joy to paint. We are all struggling with the wispy brushstrokes made so famous in this era, and thankfully not every painter uses them and many who do don't use them in every painting, but we are practicing. That is why it's called a "study." And the the students painted their paintings beautifully. Pictured is my work, the class demonstration painting. I love how it captures the scene.
