Lupines of Whitefield Maine was painted as an homage to the American Impressionists who considered the American landscape as poetry, capturing fields of flowers, coastlines, mountains and everything in between in their lovely art. The town of Whitefield was Incorporated June 19, 1809. It's name was inspired by a popular British evangelist, Reverend George Whitefield, who preached throughout the colonies in the mid 1700's. It's located just west of Camden, Rockland, and my favorite little hamlet, Owls Head, Maine.
