The beautiful blue cast to the shadows was if anything even more intense in real life. When the sun is at just the right angle shadows on snow are absolutely stunning. This scene was from a photo I took in Colorado near Evergreen, but I've observed the same intensely blue shadows in the snow in New Mexico near Santa Fe.
