Yikes, we are ONE MONTH from Christmas Day! I had this strong feeling today that we are in the plane, on the runway, taxiing toward the holidays. It's the hurry, the hustle, the crowds, the forcible merry, merry merry that do me in every year. But I DO like the leisurely crafting that's involved: making ojos de Dion, assembling a chaotic pile of torn fabric, ribbons, twine, and all manner of natural things (rocks, moss, sticks, etc.), amassing rick rack, pom pots, glittery pipe cleaners. I love wrapping presents, making then mini-installations, glue gunning all manner of ephemera on them. This painting/collage is a representative of how I would like my holidays to go: There's my quotidian daily life which I LOVE (that is the Staffordshire jug) and then there is the fun chaos that I will stick into the container that is my everyday life. Please note, this is a smallish jug so I best not try to cram too much in it...i.e. I must keep the holiday hub bub to an appropriate amount! What is the 'chaos' you welcome, and the chaos that you can do without? Yikes, we are ONE MONTH from Christmas Day!
